Kevin Byrnes

Kevin Byrnes has been facilitating highly energetic and motivational workshops since 2002.  He is an expert in Interviewing and communication skills.  He is a Certified Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and a Certified Life Coach.
As a facilitator Kevin has trained a variety of investigators including Federation Association of Security Officials, Transport Canada and Transportation Safety Board investigators, Police Officers, Security Supervisors, various University police and security as well as having taught on Police Foundations at Centennial College in Toronto.
Kevin spent 34 years as an investigator, coach, mentor and supervisor with the York Regional Police.  During his career he worked in a variety of units including; Homicide, Drug squad, Special Victim’s Unit and Domestic Violence Unit. He developed and delivered numerous training courses in Core Communications, Interviewing, Negotiations Skills, Elicitation and Truth Verification. In 2016, the 2nd edition of his book, Truth Focused Interviewing for Investigators was published by Thomson Reuters publishing.
As a police officer and facilitator, he has extensive experience in dealing with conflict and getting the best outcomes from difficult conversations. He continues to study and update his knowledge in areas such as NLP, Mindfulness and Psychology.
